In 2019 living a "sustainable" lifestyle is all anyone is talking about but I feel like when we do talk about living sustainably we are almost exclusively referring to our environment. How we can live more sustainably to maintain and protect our planet. Now I think this is amazing and being environmentally friendly is a big part of what this blog will be focused upon but I think there's a whole other section of a sustainable living that we are ignoring. Living sustainably in relation to our mental and physical health. By looking after ourselves we can look after our planet and vice versa. If we decide to tailor our diet towards more fresh fruit and veg and steer away from meat and dairy then we're looking after our own health and our planet, same for walking to work instead of driving or spending an evening reading a book or knitting a jumper over watching Netflix.
So hopefully now you see what my 'niche' is and why I created this blog. I want to create content that will encourage you to look after yourself and our planet. This is born out of my own (in progress) journey to creating a happier and healthier lifestyle for myself and the fact that I know if I document my musings, I'll probably make more progress due to being able to hold myself virtually accountable! With all this in mind, here are some of my sustainable living goals which I'm sure you will hear more about in some upcoming posts:
1. Eat more local and organic produce
2. Educate myself about the environmental and health impacts of vegetarianism and veganism
3. Walk more
4. Exercise regularly
5. Explore herbalism
6. Make more of my own clothes
7. Do more for charity
8. Invest in more zero waste products
9. Grow more plants
10. Stop buying fast fashion
I hope this gives you a good taster of the focus of this blog and the things you can expect to see here in the future. I'm really excited about this, I hope you are too!

Looking forward to reading more of your posts in the future!! I do crochet/cross stitch in the evenings - but watch Netflix at the same time! Maybe I need to make a change, too! Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely comment! I often end up knitting with the TV on but sometimes I try to switch to music or a podcast to give my eyes a break from all the blue light!
